Diligence Studio teamed up with Melbourne based Idealogue to develop a character and brand illustrations for the cryptocurrency startup Golem.
The character draws inspiration from Hebrew folklore and Stanislav Lem's novel Golem XIV, about a conversation with an evolving AI consciousness.
The character had to be memorable and unique—high-tech without being inhuman or overly robotic.
It had to feel reliable and friendly but not cute or childish. Since Golem's software enables distributed computing power, we wanted the mascot to feel like it's whole is greater than the sum of its simple parts.
